Your $10 membership entitles you to all the latest Art League Notes and News you can digest, plus events and opportunities throughout the year. Membership is effective January through December. Make your checks out to: "The Art League" and forward them to Elaine Howard, 6282 Windward Lane, Flowery Branch, GA 30542.
Spring Salon Exhibition
Cheryl challenged the GAL to create their most wonderful pieces of original art ever to enter in this event. This is going to be a spectacular exhibition that is being advertised region wide. The plan is to bring out the public in full force to attend this event. Peach State Bank is going to mail its 2,500 customers flyers advertising the Salon and the Opening Reception. This is a great opportunity to showcase your work to our greater Gainesville community - to potentially share in $700 of prizes - and to sell your work with NO commission charged! Entry deadline is March 1.
At the end of the meeting, Anita Stewart offered a wide selection of professional quality brushes at discounts we can all love.
Dates to remember:
February 15 - GAL Winter Exhibition removal and SUBMISSION date for GAL Spring Juried Show 10:00 - 2:00, Quinlan. $10 entry fee for 1 - 3 works of art.

January 21, 2010 Meeting Program
With Christoper Sherry
We welcomed the always-entertaining, enormously talented, Christopher Sherry who presented a program on how we can use perspective to create stronger, more effective works of art.
We all benefitted from Chris's insights into how perspective plays a critical role in our works.
Georgia Art League artists brought along sketch books and pencils to apply Chris's techniques to their own drawings.
Many thanks to the Georgia Art League members whose countless hours of behind-the-scenes work make our Art League the success it is!
