Yvette Venturo Granski I have been creating art as far back as I can remember and have been painting professionally for about 17 years. There are so many aspects of art, but they all share a common unity, a universal language that speaks to all of us in different ways. I have found painting to be a wonderful way to express my feelings and emotions, to portray an opinion, or to send a message. When I am creating a painting I am my purest self, the real me. I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (Cum Laude) in Art and Art History in 1992. In addition, I also hold a Teaching License for Art (K-12) from the University of NC. I've traveled throughout Europe studying painting, sculpture, architecture and art history. I am fascinated by many styles of art but am drawn to impressionism. I love working with the beautiful colors of nature and the play on light and reflection. My work is original and created from photographs and memory. |

My paintings are derived from subjects that have inspired me throughout life. I try to see and feel the true essence or intrinsic nature of subjects before I paint them. I want to bring out the underlying manifestation and virtuous qualities of my subjects. Everything has a source of energy that will speak to you if you really listen. And that is what I try to do when I paint something. Many different people, places and things capture my inner being and impel me to create something special from them. I do this through my artwork.
