Marie Hamby

I am a native of Atlanta, GA who loves the mountains. I devote as much time to painting as I can. I paint on anything! I paint a lot of furniture to make a new piece look old or add detail to make it original. I paint murals and add texture to give them depth. I started sketching when I was very young and began painting years later. I do most of my paintings in oil on canvas. I am an interior designer and sell paintings to clients. I continue to take classes to help make my paintings look as good as I possibly can.

I have had works selected to be in the Quinlan summer juried show, and in the Georgia Art League juried shows. I won third place at the Monroe Art Guild juried show. My painting of a Santa and two girls was selected for an ornament for the Monroe Art Guild. I have shown art at the Magnolia Art Gallery in Greensboro, GA at Lake Oconee. I am currently a member of GAHA in Ellijay, GA, the Quinlan Visual Arts Center and The Georgia Art League of Gainesville, GA.

Everyone has a gift from God. You have to seek and find what that is.
