November 2008, Georgia Art League Juried Show Winners
This show was displayed at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center on the studio levels. The show was judged by Dr. Barbara Faulkner, Director of Art Education at Brenau.
Dr. Faulkner had these words to say about the show: "Overall, a fine collection of art works from the exhibiting members. There were many worthy works, so selecting only a handful was difficult." She also spoke about each winning piece.
First Place: Elaine Howard, "Variations on a Trunk I"
"Intricate attention to detail that celebrates the organic richness of a small portion of nature that many might overlook."
Second Place: Cheryl Hardin, "Windswept"
"Artist uses a quiet palette with beautiful modeling that conveys the commonplace drama of nature on an overcast day."
Third Place: Anita Elder, "A Day of Plein Aire"
"Captures a lush summer day rendered in impressionistic style and colors."
Honorable Mention: Paula Hoffman, "Apples and Grapes"
